Pepto-Bismol is a medication used to treat diarrhea and other short-term discomforts in the stomach, like indigestion, stomach upset, and nausea. It comes in various forms, and some are specific in the way they work in the human body. The product works by improving the amount of fluid your intestines absorb, reducing inflammation on your intestines, and killing the bacteria that cause diarrhea, among other activities.
The active ingredient present in Pepto-Bismol is Bismuth Subsalicylate, which is active in providing all the relief that the product or brand name Pepto-Bismol offers to consumers. This active ingredient also has anti-acidic properties that can reduce heartburn and stomach upset.
Pepto-Bismol comes in two major forms; liquid and caplet. It's also available in chewable forms, and all of the forms are orally ingested.
We have them in these three forms, which are all potent in the way they work. We also have them in original strength and ultra (maximum strength) for both the liquid suspension, chewable tablets, and orally ingested caplets. At Vitabox, we have them in these three forms, which are all potent in the way they work. We also have them in original strength and ultra (maximum strength) for both the liquid suspension, chewable tablets, and orally ingested caplets. And lastly, there are special drugs available for just diarrhea, which are the Pepto diarrhea caplets and the Pepto diarrhea liquicaps. The rest of the forms can work for every other form of discomfort in the stomach including diarrhea, but the special diarrhea Pepto-Bismol drugs are only for diarrhea.
All the forms of the Pepto-Bismol products have specific instructions on how to use them. You can find them on the labels, which also contain their dosages for both adults and teenagers. However, one thing they all have in common in their usage is that they are taken after every 30 minutes or 1 hour but not more than eight caplets or doses in 24 hours. The chewable tablets are chewed, the caplets are taken with a glass of water, and the liquid suspensions are orally ingested.

Some of the side effects you could be expecting include black stool and black or hairy tongue. In rare cases, you can experience ringing in your ears.
